Biography: Daniel Pirsig was born in 1966 to a London raised Mother and a Boston raised Father. His mother was visiting relatives in Boston when she ran into Daniel's father, and fell in love almost instantly. Daniel was born two years later, but his mother died in childbirth. The young boy was raised by hia father and various step mothers, but spent most of his summers in London with his Grandparents. Daniel's accent is a mix of British with a light sound of Bostonian flair due to this. He lead a pretty normal childhood, going to school in Boston, summers in London, and applied to Harvard University. He got in, but didn't focus too much on his studies - he focused on film making with his friends and helped with their projects. Even though he graduated from Harvard with an english degree, he felt film making was the better route. So Daniel, along with his college sweetheart Anne, moved to Los Angeles when they both turned 24. By the time he was 26, Daniel had finished writing Bottle Rocket and had married Anne. When he turned 28, Bottle Rocket became a low budget movie.

Bottle Rocket became a cult classic, and Daniel had the writing bug. He used his degree from Harvard finally and started to crank out script after script, and directed some of the scripts, or produced them, or both. By the time he was 33 he had an Oscar for American Beauty, a two year old daughter named Alicia, and a wife who was cheating on him with a woman. By the time he was 35, he was divorced, with part-time custody of his daughter, and moving to San Diego, where he has been ever since. It was Daniel's life as a workaholic that had torn his family apart, and took his wife and daughter from him, but it only seemed to make him work harder. Daniel felt he had something to prove, and he was determined. A little too determined it seemed. He had started to gain a name for himself, and he was turning into the indie movie king, a title that Daniel was alright with.

Still keeping with the idea that he should direct what he writes, he has directed almost everything he has written since From Dusk Until Dawn. But he's also taking on new projects as well, as the upcomming Star Trek and critically acclaimed Avatar. His style of writing has captured most of the youth of today, but has gained him older fans as well. His visual style stands out against the rest, and he's known for his professionalism on and off the set. His love life, of course, is something else. He can't seem to get things right, and while he's been on a lot of dates, nothing seems to stick. Daniel seems to still hold out for his ex-wife, even though he knows she's moved on completely.
